ABOUT THE CENTER

 

Aim:

to promote the ideas of tolerance, intercultural education, mutual respect and collaboration of the diverse ethnical and confessional groups in the Crimean society.

The Center objectives:

• establishment of the resource base for informational and methodological assistance for development of a multicultural education and ethnic enlightenment of the Crimean people;

• popularization of the cultures and religions of the peninsular, the ideas of the peaceful coexistence of the diverse confessions and ethnical groups of the Crimea;

• exchange of the innovational educational projects directed at the development of inter-ethnic and inter-confessional tolerance, culture of peace, early violent conflicts prevention, peer mediation;

• informational and methodological support of the activities directed at the rebirth, preservation and development of national cultures of the Crimean ethnic groups, including their languages and dialects;

• development and distribution of the special school educational programs, involving the potential of the Crimean Ethnographic museum, educational institutions, cultural-ethnographic centers and NGOs of the Crimea;

• wide distribution of the practical experience in conflict prevention and resolution (trainings for NGOs, educators, students and pupils, master-classes, lectures, etc).

Information and methodological services:

• Profile literature library services, development of the lessons plans and extracurricular events;

• Consultation services on selection of the published and other kind of information on the profile problems;

• Organization of the seminars, lectures, round-tables, extracurricular events, lessons, festivals and presentations, concerned with the main objections of the Center.

Organization and technical services:

• organization and conduction of the seminars, round-tables, trainings, press-conferences, presentations, master-classes, conferences;

• letting the premises for conduction of different educational and cultural events;

• organization of topical exhibitions and meetings with national-cultural societies and leading Crimean specialists on the ethnical history and traditional cultures, as well as with arts and crafts artists.

What do we offer in 2007-2008:

• seminars and practical works for the pre-school methodologists and directors of education and extra-curricular study on the base of the Crimean ethnographic museum (CEM);

• development of the scientific and methodological complex of the educational course "Culture of the neighborhood", concerned with inter-cultural education on the problems of inter-ethnical and inter- confessional co-relations;

• training seminars for the primary and secondary school teachers on practicing the educational course "Culture of neighborhood";

• chain of round-tables and discussion clubs on the profile problems.
